Repertoire Orchestra

Facts

Joseph Sieber first ran the format in autumn 2021 at the Royal Northern College of Music with friends, and has developed it ever since. The goal: the most accessible version of a socially and musically valuable play-along orchestra, with a uniquely diverse range of orchestral musicians of all ages.

Since 2024 the Repertoire Orchestra has been running in the major German-speaking Swiss cities of Zurich, Bern, Basel and Lucerne — with further offshoots, including abroad, in planning. Over 200 musicians between 14 and 84 from across Switzerland have already played.

The Repertoire Orchestra is one of several mutually complementary formats for symphony orchestras — produced and distributed by the music-outreach initiative Simple Symphony, for clients worldwide.
